Assessment marks in DU to be released

Assessment marks in DU to be released

NEW DELHI: Students of Delhi University can now expect to get their exam results on time. The teachers in DU agreed before the high court on Thursday to release the internal assessment marks of students that they had been holding back as a mark of protest against the implementation of semester system.

Appearing for Delhi University Teachers Association (DUTA), the counsel told the high court that it would appeal to all its members to release the internal assessment marks of the students. So far, teachers from only three colleges had released the internal assessment marks of the students to the university. DUTA executive held an urgent meeting later in the day to this effect.

"In the larger interest of students, we decided it on our own to appeal to the teachers to release the internal assessment marks. Now we are going to meet the vice-chancellor at 5pm on Friday to discuss the matter of semesters," said a DUTA member. He added, "We can only make an appeal to the teachers. However, no deadline has been given to them for submission of the marks," he added.

According to DUTA officials, six of them will be meeting the vice-chancellor on Friday.
