IndiaCan launches vocational training centre in Bangalore

BANGALORE: IndiaCan, a joint venture of Educomp Solutions Ltd., India's largest education company and Pearson, the world's largest education services provider launched its first Vocational Training centre here.

IndiaCan's vision is to train over 500,000 persons annually and make them 'ready to deploy' in the industry by 2012 with globally transportable skills sets.

IndiaCan plans a national network of more than 600 vocational training centres in the near future, focusing on jobs across segments such as finance, retail, IT and insurance, it said in a statement here.

"We are happy to launch our first centre in Karnataka at Bangalore. We will be opening 15 more centres by June end and additional 50 centres across South India by end of this year. Across India we should have 250 centres in place by then," said Sharad Talwar, CEO - IndiaCan.

Indiacan centre will offer courses in Spoken English, Accounts, Sales, Retail and IT. Additional courses will be launched soon, he said.
