Seize your seat for MBA and MCA with KMAT
The MBA aspirants can take a chance to prove their mettle and confirm a seat in any of the 130 MBA and MCA colleges in the state for their post-graduate programme this academic year. The Karnataka Management Aptitude Test (KMAT) will be conducted on 4 July 2010, between 2 pm and 5 pm. This is a common entrance test held by the Karnataka Private Post Graduate Colleges’ Association (KPPGCA) to fill their management quota seats.
The test score is used by 130 self-financing MBA and MCA colleges in the state. The test will assess the language comprehension, mathematical skills and aptitude of MBA aspirants.To take the test, aspirants can either apply online or download the application form from the official website.
Application forms are available online and in all colleges from 1 May 2010. The last date for submission of forms is 25 June 2010. There are 12 test centres across the state.
Last year, nearly 8,500 students appeared for the entrance examination and 4,000 candidates were admitted to various colleges on the basis of their KMAT score. Compared to the previous year, the number of participating colleges has increased this time. This year, 7,000 seats are available in the management quota for MBA and about 3,000 seats in MCA.
The KMAT organisers also plan to inform the candidates via SMS details of test centres as well as candidates’ roll numbers.Candidates will also be provided with instructions, via SMS, on how to download the admit card online. The helpline numbers (see box), working on all days except Sundays and holidays, will answer students’ queries.
The helpline service will be available for two months after the exam. This will help them to clarify their doubts about seat matrix, colleges and the admission process said authorities.
