Scholarships for Indian Students

The 'Maitri' Scholars Program, unveiled by Australian Minister Of foreign affairs Marise Payne on Sat, would offer nearly $11 million over 4 years to help Indian folks studying at Australia's world-class universities.

During the joint news conference, the Australian FM also unveiled a variety of new initiatives aimed at strengthening Australia-India cultural and educational links.

I'm so pleased to announce today, alongside a range of my Australian cabinet colleagues, a range of new projects aimed at strengthening Australia-India educational and cultural connections.

She said that the efforts are fittingly dubbed the 'Maitri,' which means friendship projects. According to the Australian FM, the Government of australia would grant about  $11 million over 4 years through the Maitri Scholars Program to help Indian students study at Australia's world-class institutions.

"As per Payne, the Maitri Scholarships Initiative will provide $3.5M over four years to facilitate new visionaries interact and collaborate on information accumulation projects." She also stated that Australia will contribute around $6 million over next  4 years to the Maitri culture collaborations in order to foster exchange of culture and strengthen the creative industries in both nations.

Payne said the alliance between India and Aus has strong linkages in commerce and development, addressing at a news conference alongside Foreign Minister Jaishankar. "Following CECA phase of deliberations, Dan Tehan, Ministry of Trade, Tourist industry, as well as the Financial system, is heading into India."

Regarding the CECA, Payne stated that both parties are hopeful that it would open up new business and financial possibilities, especially as both sectors recoup from the effect of COVID-19. The Maitri initiative, according to Payne, is a big positive for Australia's educational field, which is recuperating from the economic effect of COVID 19.

MOU  between the two nations was signed on Friday in Delhi, according to Australia's FM. "Min for Trade Dan Tehan was allowed to register an agreement on tourism with his colleague in New Delhi yesterday. Under the terms of the MOU, Australia and India will collaborate to increase tourism between both the two sectors, as well as expand collaboration on tourism planning, data exchange, industry involvement, and training "she stated Payne also announced the formation of an Australia-India infrastructure forum, which would link Australian capital with India's massive development prospects.
