GAAP to open 60 educational centres in North India this fiscal

New Delhi: Grewal Academy of Accounting Professionals (GAAP) Education will open 60 educational centres during the current financial year in North India at an investment of up to Rs18 crore.
"Seeing the growing need of accounting and finance professionals, we have planned to set up 60 academies in the coming financial year (2010-2011) and hope to cover North India in the first phase," GAAP Education MD Lalit Kumar said.
In the first phase, the company will launch nine GAAP educational centres. Out of which six centres will be launched this month only and are located in Delhi and nearby areas.
The other three will be operational by the end of May and would come up in Haryana, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh.
The academy will launch its Employability Building Programme in the first phase. This is a year long course divided into 14 modules which includes certified modules from Oracle and Tally.
The GAAP academy is going to start its students intake from next week and the classes will be starting from May 1.
GAAP is offering enormous entry level career options like accountant executive, taxation executive, account manager and internal auditors.
These vocational academies will impart employable skills to graduate, undergraduates and will help enhance the skills of employed accounting professionals.
For running 60 educational centres, the academy will recruit about 250 and 300 employees, Kumar added.
"The academy is expected to generate revenues of about Rs40 crore from these centres by the end of current financial year," Kumar said.
The company has tied-up with companies like Vishal Retail, Lifestyle, Cantabil Retail India, real estate companies and microfinance companies to help its students get placement.
