Punjab is one of the states in India, where students choose IELTS, to continue their higher education. In the past years, almost six lakh Punjabi students prepare for IELTS, in every academic year. This popularity of IELTS exam also creates a demand for coaching, in the state for getting high scores in the exam.  Now, the Punjab Government has come up with an idea, to provide IELTS coaching through it is under the government itself. The programme will be run under the Cambridge University Press in India, which is an alliance of Cambridge University Press in UK. The press will provide required material supplements to run the programme, which will be delivered through the govt. ITIs of the state.

As a part of this new initiative, the Punjab Government has organized a meeting function, where the Memorandum of Understanding was signed on the programme. In the meeting, Rana Gurjit Singh, the Technical Education and Industrial Training minister of Punjab said that there is a need for exclusive education opportunity in India, now days, because India holds top position in the population of young generation in the world. He further said that the objective of this programme is to boost up the intellectual capabilities of the students, to make them fit to conquer education opportunities in the global level.

MoU, which is very much essential for the state mainly because majority of the population of students and job seekers in Punjab wish to go and settle in abroad nations like US and UK, where clearing IELTS is mandatory.  The IELTS coaching will definitely help this group of people, who can find their ways to go abroad for education and job. This is the main cause behind setting up such MoU, where coaching will be given through good teaching experts, who are filtered under various training programs. The study materials and assistance will be provided for every IELTS students, under this initiative, which will be guaranteed with quality.

Also, the minister Rana Singh stated that the government is planning to make a Foreign Study and Placement Cell for the students in the state, who wish to go abroad for studies and job. The cell will offer legal aids for students to depart for foreign countries, through the District Bureaus of Employment Enterprise (DBEEs).

The MoU will train almost more than 40 thousand students, to achieve their dreams to study abroad. The training for teaching staffs will be provided by the Cambridge itself, which makes the programme qualitative, and assured. The teachers should also qualify IELTS, with 8 or more bands. These teachers will be selected from the top English faculty of ITI and Polytechnic institutions in the state, based on their expertise in the subject. This filtering process for trainers is the main credibility for the programme, which will be a great support for students who aspire to clear IELTS, and having financial trouble for coaching.

Pursuing MBA abroad: how to shine in the application?

Pursuing MBA abroad: how to shine in the application?

MBA is one of the most demanding courses in the world. Especially among Indian students, MBA is considered as a brand value in the job market. Also, securing MBA degree from top universities in the world, like Stanford, Harvard etc are dream for many students. When we look into the actual reality of getting admission in these top branded universities, we can easily find out that they offer only very minimum number of seats for business courses. The main reason for these minimum seats is their high quality provided in offering education. So, if you really wish to get a seat in these top business schools in the world, you must ensure that you get equipped with all the necessary requirements that they demand from the students. Here, this article is to provide some tips for Indian students, who wish to pursue MBA from top universities like Stanford, on the basic requirements needed for getting a seat.

India holds the second position in the world for its population statistics. In the population classification India’s young population is much higher than all the other countries. This also makes Indians to face more competition in acquiring their higher education, based on their choices and interests. Similarly we can see this competition in MBA admission also, in these top universities. The famous business schools will always try to maintain in the top of the list, by achieving high academic outputs. So, their cut off will also be in a higher level, which should be met to possess a seat for the courses. Now days, the universities also gives parameters outside academic performances, to improve the quality of the quality of their education system.

Generally Indian candidates are more magnificent in scoring good marks in GMAT.  But when we look through the requirements they demanded in previous years, we can find out that they look for some things beyond academic percentages. This includes that leadership qualities, innovative skills and so on. Also, vast knowledge made on reading habits is also one of the demanding things. Indian education system is not that much open towards reading habits, till now, usually Indian schools follow spoon feeding system of teaching where every bit of syllabus is taught and given notes by the instructors themselves. But in western countries like US, they open their education system to the learning initiated by students, from the secondary classes itself, which will allow the students to find out the knowledge by their own.  This system of learning also makes Indians to find the admission in these top branded institutions a difficult one.

Scholarship or financial assistance is the other reason which creates demand to choose MBA course in an international school, among Indians. Usually the money required to complete international education is more than affordable for Indian communities. This cost includes tuition fee, accommodation charges and so on. The international education programs in countries like US also provide opportunities to work in the country, to meet the financial expenses of the students.  The increasing demand for admission is also reflected in the job market, where less skilled people cannot survive with others. If you really wish to shine in the job market, you should get equipped with innovation and creativity. You should always look to deliver quality outputs from your works.

Moreover, delivering unique outcomes are also important in today’s education system. If there are 35 students including you in the class, you should make yourself shine apart from the rest 34.  This uniqueness can be small or large, which generally have no importance. The only thing needed is being different, which will help to get identified in the career, as well as in education life. In order to get this, you should increase your talents and skills, by getting more open towards learning multi disciplinary things.

Indian students are quite good in making scores in exams like GMAT. But the actual issue lies with the communication and writing skills, where Indian candidates do not shine up to the expectation level. This is also the drawback of Indian education, where students are generally less open towards reading and communicating. The students, who even score top marks in exams, will shiver in their discussion and interview part, which will be considered as less confident. Also, the English knowledge of students should also get filtered, to make them good in communication in a global platform.

Furthermore, the vision on the goals and ambitions should also get modified. While addressing a question about your future ideas, you must satisfy the questioner with your words. If you fail to do so, you cannot shine in the place. Also, your creative and effective plans will give you enough points to secure an admission in these prestigious schools. So, we should work on improving our non-academic aspects like communication, innovations, speaking and reading knowledge if we really wish to study abroad. This is same for MBA and other top courses in the world.

How to crack NMAT?

NMAT is also considered as important entrance exam along with CAT, GMAT and other ones. So, like all those exams NMAT also needs attention on preparation and making results.  Here we are trying to provide some advices for clearing NMAT easily and successfully.

  1. Know the pattern and nature

Every entrance exams are one of the filtering steps for the admission process. But still, each of them differs from others, mainly based on their pattern and what they look for. Some concepts, which are given prime attention in an exam, may not have given that much attention by another. So while preparing for any exam, try to analyze the concepts and its importance given in the exam pattern. Refer previous year’s papers for getting an idea on the important topics, which will help to crack the exam easily and effectively.  Also, try to manage study time properly, if you prepare for more than one exam, in the same stream itself.

  1. Be thorough with the idea

It will be always good if you study a concept thoroughly. While preparing for exams which will lead to your dreams, make sure that you never become passive on your studies. Even though you have competed very less topics, make sure that you are good enough with them. Clearing concepts will take you to heights, which a careless study cannot do. Also, the clear idea on topics will help to complete mock tests and actual tests in a better way, by increasing your confidence level.

  1. Maintain a regularity in studies

Always try to remain in a state of equilibrium in your studies. Maintain a consistency in preparation will lead to have a calm and clear mind, which will improve your memory capacity.  Also, try to keep you away from distracted, throughout your preparation period. If you need to clear the exam with a good score, try to keep you in a straight line, with a focus on your goal only.

  1. Equal importance for all topics

We always hear that making a classification in topics, based on our strength and weakness will help for getting god marks. This is correct up to a level. We always should make a mental chart on topics, based on our knowledge and capacity. But still, we must ensure that we give equal importance to all these sections, which includes our strengths and weaknesses. Periodically, we should analyze this classification, to identify the concepts which we may ignore from covering. This planning will surely lead for success, if we work on it properly.

  1. Accelerate your study speed

Even though understanding the concepts clearly is very important; you should always try to boost your study speed, by trying to cover all topics fast, without any mistakes. If you fail to manage the speedy covering of all topics, you will be equipped only with less knowledge. In this aspect, first try to speed you calculations and readings. When you are able to manage calculations in a fast way, you can find out more free time in the exam hall, which can be utilized for making revisions on your answers. Also, speedy answering method will limit your unanswered questions to very few or zero. Still there is no negative marking in NMAT, which will in turn reduce your marks based on your blank answers.  So make sure that you attempt all questions, even if you do not know right one.

  1. Exploit mock tests to the maximum

Mock tests are the best way to assess your own preparation. For any big exams, use mock tests to the maximum, if you really wish to top in the list. It will give you some tips on how to manage the exam, and to know the faults in your preparation. Now days, there are a number of mock tests available in internet, for various exams. Use those mock tests to the maximum you can, to mould yourself to clear the exam. Also, try to clear yourself, by understanding the mistakes you have made in you studies, using them.

  1. Use chances for appearing in the exam

NMAT provide three chances for each person to appear for the exam. In these three chances, best marks will be considered, for all candidates. So, make sure that you use this opportunity wisely. In case if you miss two chances, make sure that you appear for third chance with full preparation than the previous one. Usually there will be a time gap of three to four weeks among all chances.  So be sure that you use this opportunity rightly, to achieve your dreams.
