MBBS Private Colleges of Maharashtra fees 2022?

MBBS Private Colleges of Maharashtra fees 2022?

It is major relaxing news for the aspirants of MBBS in Maharashtra that the private colleges of medicine have not increased the fee this year. Moreover, the fee of Prakash Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Sangli has been reduced by approximately 40%.

This information is spread by the FRA (Fee Regulating Authority) of the State. This has permitted to increase the fee between Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 1 lakh in some institutes that have requested for fee increase.

The FRA has reduced the fee from Rs. 8.4 lakh to Rs. 4.8 lakh per year in case of the Prakash Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Sangli. This decision has been made after reviewing the document for expenditure in the previous year. Moreover, 6 more colleges has decided not to increase the fee.

However, the FRA has yet to announce the fee structure for some of the medical colleges including Vedantaa Institute of Medical Sciences, Palghar and ACPM, Dhule. This type of decision is totally opposite to that of the decision last year when the fee had been increased in private medical colleges between Rs. 2 lakh to Rs. 10 lakh per year. this hike was due to th pandemic era.

According to news it has been stated that most of the medical colleges in Maharashtra has a massive demand for increasing fee but FRA has allowed a increase which is reasonable. The authority had to attend several meetings to fix the situation.

The retired high court Justice Vijay Lakhichand Achliya, who is the chairperson of FRA has mentioned that the increase in fee has been reasonable due to the extra income was done from the fee given by the NRI students.

The colleges like KH Somaiya Medical College in Mumbai and NKP Salve Institute of Medical Sciences in Nagpur has increased he fee by Rs. 1 lakh. The Kashibai Navale Medical College in Pune has hiked the fee by Rs. 30000 per year. The colleges that decided not to change the fee structure are

  1. Talegaon’s MIMER

  2. Latur’s MIMSR

  3. Solapur’s Ashwini Medical College

  4. Nashik’s SMBT College

  5. Chiplun’s Walawalker College

  6. JIIU’s IIMSR in Jalna

Prakash Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Sangli is the only college who has reduced the fee by almost 50%. Despite the FRA has stated about the fee structure yet the students are waiting for the individual colleges to confirm about the fee structure in the website before getting ready for the admission procedure.

The FRA in public stated that “The decision was taken after taking into consideration the fees declared for academic years 2020-21 and 2021-22 by unaided education institutes. It was decided to finalise this amount for new courses in 2022-23.”
