No AIEEE, IIT JEE and other Entrance Exams by 2013
By 2013, there will only be one single examination for entrance to engineering and medical colleges in the country. Said Union HRD minister Kapil Sibal.
The plan to have a common, single examination for all medical and engineering colleges means creating a test on the lines of the Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) conducted in the United States.Gradually, such an exam would be extended for entry to colleges of other disciplines, such as law.
Currently, each state holds separate entrance tests for admissions to engineering courses while the IITs and NITs have separate tests. Similarly, there are multiple examinations for admissions into medical colleges held by the centre and states.
The HRD ministry feels that a common entrance test will smoothen the admission process as students will not end up having to write exams repeatedly. A task force to work out the modalities will be set up by the ministry.
This is bad...I feel i there is only one exam the student's entire future would depend on how he/she performs on that single day. But now in the current scenario even if the student does not perform well in one exam he/she can still try hard and clear the others.
ReplyDeleteya....its wrong to some extent ....that a student have a single chance to crop up his dreams....what if he doesnt perform well...there are many students who give peculiar exams n they get seats....but if al iit's nit's and state wise ppl give d same...then there score card vl b in all india basis... it vl b like an all india test pattern...coz there are students who dont have knowledge as high as iit's bt yes they have atleast a li'l knowledge that they can clear there state's test....it vl b quite difficult for such students atleast...
