Established
in 1784, Lviv National Medical
University is one of the biggest and oldest medical universities to
provide officially recognized higher education programs in Ukraine. The 250
year old public medical university has an annual body of 20,000 people, of
which are 6,273 students, 1164 interns, and 11,593 cadets of FPI.

Faculty of Lviv National Medical University
The University has a faculty force of 1211 scientists: 134 Doctor of Sciences and more than 620 PhD degree holders, including 113 full professors, 369 associate professors, 50 senior tutors, 662 assistant professors, 17 researchers. Among them there are 23 Members, 7 Corresponding Members of Academy of Sciences, 12 Honoured Workers of Science and Technology, 7 Honoured Workers of Education, 19 Honoured Doctors, 1 Honoured Worker of Physical Culture and Sport, 8 Laureates of the State Prize of Ukraine in Science and Technology.
The University functions in 78 departments, divided into 6 faculties as
• Two faculties of general medicine
• Faculty of dentistry
• Faculty of pharmacy
• Faculty of foreign students
• Faculty of postgraduate education
The University offers officially recognized higher education programs in Ukrainian, Russian and English.
