CAT 2021: is it only for MBA in IIMs?
Common Admission Test (CAT) is one of the most popular entrance exams in India. It is conducted mainly for admission for MBA and PGDM in various Indian Institute of Management (IIM) campus. The CAT exam for the year 2021 was conducted on November 28, Sunday. The exam had two shifts, each with duration of two hours. The admission to MBA programmes and PGDS in all management institutes including various IIM campus of India is based on the score secured by each candidate in this exam.
The exam pattern had got various changes in the previous year, because of the pandemic situation of COVID-19. This year also, those modifications were maintained in the exam. The exam committee had stated the basic syllabus for the exam in September itself. According to that, the exam had three sections including – Quantitative Ability (QA), Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC) and as well as Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR).
The first round of admission will be held for pursuing MBA in IIMs. The admission for IIMs will include – interviews, group discussions, and a set of other processes also. Along with admission in all IIMs in India, a collection of 80 institutions, including public and private offer admission for MBA and PGDM based on score of CAT exam.
However, the majority of the candidates who appeared for the CAT are expecting to get admission in any of the IIM campus in India. But the main thing that we should remember is the selection for IIM has many hard criteria, which is very easy to crack only with a high score in the exam.
