Failing in 12th to topping in Civil Services
Cracking the UPSC examinations is no easy task because it is one of the most difficult tests in the country. To pass the Civil Services test, you must put in a lot of effort and patience. Today, we will discuss IAS officer Anju Sharma, who missed various courses in class 12 but succeeded by passing the UPSC test at the age of 22. She turned failure into triumph.
Anju Sharma had performed poorly in the Economics Paper in Higher secondary education as well as her chemistry pre-boards in Class 10. She did, however, excel in the other courses. No one, she claims, prepares you for failure, just for achievement.
She, on the other hand, believes that these two events in her life molded her destiny. "During my pre-boards, I had so many chapters to study and it was practically post-dinner when I started fretting since I was inadequate and I knew I was going to fail," Anju once told a leading newspaper. Everyone around me emphasized how important 10th-grade success is since it influences our future courses."
Her mother comforted and motivated her throughout this difficult period. She also realized that she shouldn't rely on the last-minute study. So she began preparing for college examinations immediately away, which enabled her to be a gold medalist in her institution. She earned her BSc and MBA in Jaipur.
This method also assisted her in passing the UPSC test on the first try. She finished her curriculum ahead of schedule and was named to the ranking of IAS toppers.
Anju began her work in 1991 as an Assistant Collector in Rajkot. She is now the Principal Secretary of the Government Education Department (Higher and Technical Education) at Sachivalaya in Gandhinagar.
In her three decades of service, she has held several positions such as DDO Baroda, Gandhinagar, and District Collector, including in the Department of Industry and Commerce, Govt. Of India; NRHM.
