NEET 2023 eligibility criteria for overseas students
NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to undergraduate medical courses in India. The eligibility criteria for NEET 2023 for overseas candidates are as follows:
Nationality: The candidate should be an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI), Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Person of Indian Origin (PIO), or Foreign Nationals.
Age Limit: The candidate should be at least 17 years of age as on December 31, 2023. There is no upper age limit for NEET.
Educational Qualification: The candidate should have completed 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as core subjects. The candidate must have obtained a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology taken together (40% for SC/ST/OBC candidates).
Minimum Qualifying Marks: The candidate must obtain the minimum qualifying marks in NEET 2023 as per the category they belong to. The minimum qualifying marks for different categories are as follows:
General category: 50th percentile
SC/ST/OBC category: 40th percentile
General-PH category: 45th percentile
SC/ST/OBC-PH category: 40th percentile
Other requirements: The candidate must have a valid passport and should have completed the necessary documentation and eligibility criteria as specified by the concerned authorities.
