Out of 6,346 candidates who took the Common Aptitude Test (CAT) on 24 October 2013, 53 were differently-abled ones.
"Prometric is committed to providing all
candidates -- regardless of physical ability -- a fair opportunity to
be judged on their merits. Today's delivery of the CAT included a
dedicated scheduling of DA candidates. All testing candidates have
completed their exams and the day has concluded successfully," said
Soumitra Roy, general manager, Prometric India, in a statement.
The testing assistive devices that DA
candidates were allowed to bring for the CAT, depending on the type of
support requested, are abacus (without calculator), hearing aid, wheel
chair, magnifying screen (provided at the test centre) and/or a
scribe/reader, said Roy.
