CAT 2020 Analysis
The exam CAT 2020 was conducted amid COVID-19 safety
precautions on November 29 at various exam centers across India. The questions
were of moderate difficulty overall, according to the analysis by experts
CAT 2020 ANALYSIS: HIGHLIGHTS
Ø
For conducting the CAT 2020 exam, three slots
were finalized i.e. morning, afternoon, and evening.
Ø
There were 76 questions in total.
Ø
The given time for completing the exam was of
120 minutes and 40 minutes as a sectional time limit.
Ø
The distribution of questions was: QA had 26
questions, section VARC had 26 questions and section DILR had 24 questions.

In comparison with the last year’s question paper, CAT 2020
exam had lesser questions due to reduced time of exam.

Marking Syetem
Every correct answer secured plus three marks whereas minus
one for each wrong attempt. For TITA ( Non MCQ) questions, there was no negative marking.
VARC Analysis- There
were no grammar and vocabulary questions. This section was similar to CAT 2019.
The total number of passages in the reading comprehension part was four, two-two
passages with four and five questions each.
VA had the usual type of questions such as odd sentences,
summary and jumbles.
DILR Analysis- The
DILR section undergoes a change in CAT 2020 with a sum of 5 sets. Out of these
five, two sets contain 6 questions, while three comprises 4 questions. The
difficulty level was moderate to difficult for this section.

Quantitative Ability
Analysis- In terms of the level of difficulty, this section came under moderate
and was controlled by arithmetic, followed by Algebra. Unexpectedly, there was a
higher emphasis on algebra than geometry.

TITA section had eight questions. The key was choosing the
right questions. In general, the level of difficulty was moderately difficult.
CAT 2020 Score and Percentiles

appeared in the first slot.
