The results for the CAT exam 2021 are now declared, by the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmadabad. The results, for the exam conducted on November 28th, 2021, is the main eligibility criteria for admissions to IIMs as well as for various other Management schools. In the results, 9 candidates, who all are male, have scored 100% marks, which include seven ones from engineering stream.  Based on this CAT 2021 scores, the MBA institutes including IIMs will provide their cut off marks, in order to complete the further processes of admission.

CAT 2021: how to check results

The results are available on the official website, which can be accessed by any candidate. The candidates can log in to the page using their credentials, to check their scores. Downloading and taking printouts of the score card will be helpful for the future references. Also, use incognito window, if you cannot access to the results, in the regular chrome browser version. 

CAT 2021 results: other highlights

  • 47 candidates have secured 99+ percentile in the exam (100% by 9 candidates, 99.99 by 19 and 99.98 by 19). Also this includes only one female candidate, who secured 99.98%. 

  • Like the results of previous years, this year also engineers came for the top positions. The state representation in top position includes

  • CAT 2021 results will play important role in seeking admissions to any Management institutions including IIMs, other top Business schools, and even b-grade institutions.

  • In the exam paper, a question in Quantitative Ability section will have two answers. (S3, Que. ID 48916813385). Both answers will get marks, since it is a nonnegative marking type question. (either 92 or 460 is considered as correct)

  • Candidates can seek admission in IIMs as well as various non IIM institutes, for the academic year 2021-22. The details of the institutions will be provided in the official website for CAT 2021. 

  • The schools will declare their cut off very soon, I the upcoming days itself. In order to find out the admission chances, candidates can access CAT 2021 College Predictor.

  • Along with CAT 2021 results, the admission will also be based on various other factors like,

  1. 10th standard marks

  2. 12th standard marks

  3. Gender 

  4. Academic history

  5. Work experiences 

Along with these criteria, the performance of the candidates in interview rounds will also play a major role in getting admission. 

  • There are nearly more than 88 non IIM institutions which consider Cat scores for admission. So even though you failed to secure admission in IIM, don’t get panic. You can still get admissions in these places, using your scores. Apply for these colleges, by the link that they provide in their official websites. 

  • How to calculate percentile score?

P= [(N-r)/N]*100

This is the formula to calculate percentile score. In this, P is the percentile score, where as N= total number of appeared candidates and r= rank obtained by each candidates based on QA section.  

More than one candidate may get same rank, if they have equal scores. Also, after finding the value like this, you can round it to two decimal points, in order to find your percentile score.

The CAT exam 2021 was conducted on November 28, 2021, for the MBA and PGDM courses. The candidates who appeared for CAT 2021 believe that IIM Ahmadabad will release their score on 3rd January 2022. Even though there is no official communication from the IIM related to this, people opine that they will release it on this day, according to the trend followed in previous years. The results will be declared in the official website of IIM, where candidates can access with their login id and password. 

The scorecard will be given for each candidate, which will declare total score as well as section wise score. Along with that, it will include some personal details, which will be given by the candidate during application time. Candidates can check their results by entering in to the website and logging in, in the CAT results section. After logging in the candidates can access their scorecard, which can be downloaded and printed for future references for admission process. 

Expecting cut off for CAT 2021


Cut off is the major criteria for short listing of candidates, after the result declaration for further process. It will include minimum marks for getting eligibility for MBA courses, in 2022-24 batch. Here is the expecting cut off for CAT 2021, which is generally accepted by the experts.

 XAT 2022: details on answer key and cut off


The XAT exam 2022 was conducted by XLRI Jamshedpur. The exam was completed on 02nd January 2022, from 9.30 am to 12.40 pm.  The test was done in online method, in 73 cities across the country, which was within the restrictions and regulations of COVID 19 pandemic. The answer key is expected to be released on January 8th, along with the responses marked by each candidate. The candidates are advised to check the official website, to get updates on answer key as well as on results.
