MBA entrance examinations other than CAT

MBA entrance examinations other than CAT

Aspirants seeking admission to MBA programs are also advised to think about taking other management entrance exams such as  SNAP, AICTE CMAT, IIFT MBA, and XAT.

On 27th November, Sunday, the CAT 2022 was conducted. This year 2,22,184 applicants—out of the 2,56,885 enrolled candidates gave the management entrance exam. It becomes challenging to achieve a good mark for admission to IIMs due to the exam's intense competition. Aspirants wishing to apply to MBA programs may also want to consider taking the AICTE CMAT, XAT, IIFT MBA, and SNAP exams.

The percentage of students who scored at, below, or equal to a specific percentile on the CAT 2022 reflects how tough the exam was. The standardized result for the CAT 2022 admission test will be the percentile score (rather than the candidate's marks), and it will be used to create the CAT 2022 merit lists.

Let's explore the alternative MBA entrance exam.

AIMA MAT: For admission to MBA programs, more than 600 participating universities across the nation conduct the National Management Aptitude Test (MAT).

AICTE CMAT:  For admission to MBA programs at universities connected to the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) is administered. CMAT is organized by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

XAT: For admittance to MBA programs at more than 160 universities, the Xavier Admission Test (XAT) is conducted.

KIITEE Management: Enrollment to the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology School of Management is granted through the KIIT MBA (KSOM).

IIFT MBA 2022: For MBA admission, the IIFT MBA (IB) is held (International Business). It is a residential general management program that lasts six semesters and has an international business emphasis. The test is administered by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

SNAP: For admittance to Symbiosis International institutes, the Symbiosis National Aptitude Test (SNAP) is conducted (Deemed University).

The Common Admission Test (CAT) 2022's afternoon session has started. CAT will be held from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm for individuals who were given the second slot.

Mumbai: This morning, from 8:30 to 10:30, the first Common Admission Test (CAT) 2022 slot was held. The exam for MBA candidates was 2 hours long.

There was a new kind of question in the first slot of the VARC section this year. The VARC part of the CAT typically includes a question that asks students to name the outlier, according to practiCe tests and past exams. This query was skipped in CAT 2022. Instead, students were instructed to fit a statement into the allotted paragraph.

The Common Admission Test (CAT) 2022 started in the afternoon session. For those who were given the second time window, CAT will take place from 12:30 to 2:30. After 12:15 pm, candidates won't be allowed inside the exam center.

Like last year, the exam's morning slot featured 66 questions, with 22 for LRDI, 24 for VARC ,and 20 for Quantitative Analysis. The LRDI and VARC sections, according to the pupils, were surprisingly difficult and time-consuming. Comparatively speaking, the quantitative part was simple.

Ten job choices that are more sensible than earning an MBA

Ten job choices that are more sensible than earning an MBA

Back five years, The only factors used by society to determine your "market value" were your college, grades, and the number of degrees you held. Thankfully, these preconceptions are beginning to fade under the impact of the digital age. Today, grades are less important than they once were, and if you have talent, you can get a great career with only the most basic requirements. People who want to further their careers sometimes weigh the benefits and drawbacks of earning an MBA.

Most of us would enroll in an MBA school to either sharpen our business skills or just to add that achievement to our resumes. Let's just conduct some calculations. While an Indian MBA will cost between Rs 7.5 and 25 lakh, your MBA program abroad might cost anywhere between Rs 40 and 70 lakh. In India, it will still take you five years to recoup the cost of your education if you complete an internship or a job that pays about Rs 25,000 per month and your MBA tuition is Rs 15 lakh. Not to mention living expenditures and other ancillary charges Perhaps add two more years? In other words, it looks risky to choose an MBA. Of certainly, you'll make more money and learn a lot in the future, but what are the risks?

In light of these considerations, the following professions are less expensive than an MBA but are likely to have a greater impact on your career advancement:

 Launch your own company.

Having your own business gives you the best feeling in the world. In addition to showcasing your moral character, starting your firm will greatly aid in experience accumulation. For a turbocharge in the middle of your career, choose this. Even if you have to shut it down, you'll still acquire credibility and be better able to concentrate on the areas of business management that need work. The worst-case scenario is that you'll have to close it down.

Engage in entrepreneurship

In a startup, you get to experience everything at once. You would be able to manage the front end, the back end, marketing, and promotion. You play a direct role in the expansion of the business. The finest individuals to learn from are entrepreneurs. People who work for startups have extremely distinct mindsets in both their personal and professional lives. Their unique and inventive approach to approaching concepts characterizes them. You'll not only learn more, but you'll also get a better understanding of how to lead a team.

Self-tutoring at home

Regardless of whether you like it or not, getting an MBA requires you to master a wide range of topics. By contrast, you are free to work on the subjects that interest you when you tutor yourself. To cover a wide range of business topics, you could create your curriculum based on your needs. To have a secure future, a few fundamental skills that must be learned are industry-specific lectures, strategy and marketing, public speaking, and leadership.

Create a strategy for yourself and carry it through.

You may move forward with direction from a strong life plan. Your strategy must have a goal, a to-do list, potential employment possibilities (each with a backup plan), and a timeline for implementation. You must first conduct some study and homework before you can begin anything. Analyze the market, understand its potential, then dive in.

Publish a book

You're not required to produce a best-seller! Just jot down your interests or life story in a book. Write, publish, and market the book on your own, putting more emphasis on the process than the result. The best possible form of advertising you can use is a published book. Additionally, you might give the book to clients as a present. It would undoubtedly lead to more opportunities than adding an MBA to your name.

Freelancing to test your abilities

Working for oneself without a business or boss is essentially what freelancing means. Timings and fees are entirely up to you. It is the perfect method to make some extra money while you are studying, working, or even considering freelancing as a career. You can investigate some practical abilities like writing, translating, coding, bookkeeping, website construction, and designing, among others. Regardless of your foundational knowledge, you can start.

Enroll in a certification program.

Numerous certifications are offered in India and abroad that could be quite useful for your business career. An excellent alternative to an MBA is to pursue an MA or MS, which will give you a more specialized area of study. An MA in organizational leadership or an MA in entrepreneurship, for instance, might be something you consider. These master's degree programs typically add a more relevant and direct connection to small company incubators or venture capitalists.

Contribute to the NGO or cause you've always wanted

In addition to making you feel good, volunteering teaches you about other people. You will gain knowledge, and be exposed to new things, and you will undoubtedly change. As a result, it will help you grow because you will have the opportunity to interact with more individuals who share your interests. Additionally, it will allow you to hone and improve your social abilities.

 Fill out a fellowship application

Fellowship programs assist you in grasping the reality of our nation. You feel more like a part of both urban and rural India as a result, and what could be better than taking action to improve things? You will have an unforgettable experience thanks to it. You will immediately assume a lot of responsibility because they are designed expressly to give you professional experiences. You could apply for programs like PMRDF, LAMP, Teach For India, and Gandhi.

Become bilingual

Apart from being fascinating, learning a new language has several advantages. Either through classroom instruction or online coaching, You can learn a second language, including a regional Indian tongue. Being multilingual undoubtedly offers benefits, especially in the world of today, regardless of age. When you are managing your current job or job search, it gives you an edge over the competition. Your inventiveness virtually doubles, and your intelligence increases. If you are certain of what you desire, to do with an MBA, it could be a terrific professional tool. Instead of relying just on your textbook knowledge, I would advise you to take initiative and learn about real-world alternative development programs.

Letting go of your arse and taking action is a necessary component. Simply put, it is that easy. Even though many people have ideas, only a select handful act on them right away. not tomorrow. not the following week. though today. Doers, not dreamers, are the actual entrepreneurs.
