CAREERS FOR BIOLOGY STUDENTS AFTER CLASS 12th 


So you settled on the medical stream since you preferred studying science, however now all you hear around you is 'medical and 'medical coaching, which isn't something you can see yourself making a vocation in. Or then again perhaps, you have not been able to clear the NEET test, despite giving it your everything, and now feel uneasy about your future. ZOOLOGY

Zoology is an exciting field and involves the study of the animal kingdom. Zoologists study the life processes, genetics, interactions among various species, and structures.

With a degree in this field, one can become a researcher, animal breeder, wildlife rehabilitator, zoo curator, teacher/professor.

 

ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE

This is becoming an essential field in today’s world. It involves studying the physical, chemical, and biological components of the environment. Environmental scientists investigate and study issues related to the environment such as global warming, ozone depletion, pollution, etc.

Environmental scientists are hired for research in various companies as it has become mandatory for companies to keep a check on the harm they are causing to the environment. Government departments also hire environmental scientists along with various government agencies like forestry, pollution control board, etc.

 

MARINE BIOLOGY

This is an emerging field that involves the study of marine organisms, including their behavior, interactions with the environment, etc. Fishery Science is another related career to this field. Marine biology is quite a diverse field.

One can work as an aquaculturist, environmental consultant, fishery biologist, researcher among others.

 

NUTRITIONIST

We all know how nowadays people are going bonkers over weight, physical and mental health. In this urgent need of the hour, nutritionists are in great demand.

 

FOOD TECHNOLOGY/FOOD SCIENCE

Food science is a field in which engineering, physical and biological sciences are used to study food. Food technology encompasses the study of production, management, and research on food products. It also looks at food deterioration, food processing, improvement of food for the public, and other such aspects.

 

CLINICAL RESEARCH

Clinical research is a branch of healthcare science. It determines the safety and effectiveness of medicines, medical devices, diagnosis, and diagnostic products.

 

AGRICULTURE

This one of the most preferred career options for students with biology. Many people don’t know but Indian agriculture is internationally known. After obtaining a degree or completing an agriculture course one can find a job in agriculture marketing, farming, dairy farming, food, and science technology.

 

 

There are various options to choose from other than medical fields after taking up biology. One needs to make up their mind, do research, and find out their interests. With many new options coming up, students need not feel pressured to take up MBBS after class 12th.
