Importance of skill-based education system

 Importance of skill-based education system.

Currently, the new education policy has developed a capacity-based education model. This puts the spotlight on vocational training courses aimed at making young people skilled, easy to hire, and self-reliant. Hans India has elicited the views of young people, educators, and society on the importance of skills development in education.

 Many graduates lack skills

The vast majority of graduates are unable to meet the rigors of work simply because they lack the skills required by the industry. In addition to the placement of scholars, the responsibility for providing practical experience for students to win profitable jobs in multinational corporations lies with the institute. If this issue is not resolved early, graduates will remain unemployed. They get a job, but they are limited to desk jobs that make no sense. There is a need for new educational policies that promote capacity-oriented education. The employment industry is willing to accept young people with the right skills.

Skills are very important

The state needs to change the education system. Educational institutions offer degrees without qualifications. Institutions purely look at their ranks and aim for grades, but don't care about student skill development. Students need to perform practical and theoretical exercises to acquire knowledge. Educational institutions need to pay attention to skill development.

Skill development is essential for career growth

Capacity building is an important aspect of passively empowering individuals as well as countries. Most unemployed people with a college degree are unemployed, and even talented people become "skilled workers." Learning practical and theoretical skills with proper research and planning will produce fruitful results. The education system needs to meet the practical needs of the learner.

The Government of India offers skill workshops on various aspects, but it does not make people aware of skill-improvement activities. Also, the type and pattern of the exam are very important. Students need to be evaluated in a wide variety of subjects. Therefore, a significant degree can be obtained by changing the traditional evaluation method.

When to change the education system

Education must be designed to fully meet the needs of the industry and provide students with the knowledge and skills to take advantage of opportunities around the world. Unfortunately, the rulers simply followed the British slavery education system, turning educational institutions into factories and producing only graduates with basic skills. This is a good time to transform the existing education system into a more practical and results-oriented system to move the country from the developing list to the developing list in the next decade.

Include skill development in the curriculum

Just as there is no substitute for hard work, there is no substitute for skill. Unskilled students are worthless in the market. For this reason, your diploma/diploma curriculum must include qualifying education to get a job. We hope that UGC's NEP-2020 will bring about fundamental changes in the field of education while at the same time allowing students to meet the needs of the industry through hands-on experience.
