Educational testing service (ETS), the creators of the TOEFL test, are offering nine scholarships for Indian students. These are valued at Rs 27.14 lakh and reward academic excellence in TOEFL test takers.
Financial support: The nine scholarships include three scholarships worth Rs 4.52 lakh each and six worth Rs 2.26 lakh each. These will be awarded for the 2011 academic year at a university listed in the TOEFL directory.
Eligibility: The scholarship is offered to Indian students living in India and beginning their study in 2011. Applicants must possess a valid TOEFL score and hold a grade point average of 80 or more on a 100-point scale, or its equivalent.
Procedure: Applicants must send in a completed application form with their TOEFL scores, a written essay and official transcript by April 15. The applications will be evaluated and the shortlisted candidates will be interviewed. Selected students must submit the university acceptance letter by June 1.
