Scholarship Calendar

January- April
1) Inlaks Scholarship
10 scholarships are available to Indian students for study up to two years at top institutions in US or UK.  The Foundation does not give scholarships in the following subjects: Engineering, Computer Science, Urban Planning, Business Studies, Medicine, Public Health, Indian Studies and Indian History, Fashion Design, Music and Film Animation.
Eligibility: Candidates must be Indian residents and hold a good degree from a recognised university. It is mandatory to have prior admission to the institution and the chosen course. Candidates must have admission letter before applying. The institutions concerned must only be top notch. Candidates must be below 30 years of age on the first of July in the year of application. 2) Panasonic Scholarships
This scholarship is for Asian students to study masters degree programmes in universities in Japan.
Eligibility: Graduates or pending graduates of universities with a distinguished academic record. They must have completed 16 years of education including 4 years of technical education or have been accepted as eligible for enrollment at the targeted graduate schools. However, applicants must have completed their bachelors degrees no more than four years prior to the date of their arrival in Japan. More details

3) Reliance Dhirubhai Fellowship
Stanford Business School awards up to five Reliance Dhirubhai Fellowships. These fellows receive full financial support for the two-year Stanford MBA programme.
Eligibility: Must be eligible to study for an MBA at the Stanford School of Business. After graduation from the MBA programme, the Reliance Dhirubhai Fellows are bound to return to India for a minimum of two years of employment in the private/public sector. More details

4) Fulbright Nehru Masters Fellowship for Leadership Development
Fulbright scholarships are offered to professionals in the areas of business administration, communication studies, economics, environment and public administration.
Eligibility: Candidates must have completed an equivalent of a US bachelors degree from a recognised Indian university with at least 55% marks (i.e. four-year bachelors degree) or completed masters degree (if the bachelors degree is of less than four years’ duration), must have at least three years' full time (paid or voluntary) professional or work experience relevant to their proposed field of study; demonstrate experience in leadership and community service and preferably be in the age group of 25-30 years. 5) Rhodes Scholarships for Masters in Oxford University
Rhodes scholars are encouraged to stay for at least two years at Oxford. Those doing one year masters degree are allowed to take up two such courses if they like. Eligibility: Candidates must be between the age group of 19-25 years on October 1 of the year when the session is expected to start and must have at least a first class degree in humanities, sciences, law, engineering, agriculture or medicine from an Indian University. 6) German Scholarships
These scholarships are offered to study postgraduate courses (with special focus on developing countries) in select German universities. Scholars are entitled to receive a stipend of 750 euros, return air fare, tuition fee, research subsidy and health insurance.
Eligibility:
 Candidates must have a first class bachelors degree, and must be working in a developing country engaged in the planning and execution of projects with emphasis on development policies having a bearing on technological, economic or social areas. There should not be a gap of more than three years between the award of last degree and application deadline and the candidate should not be older than 36 years. More details

7) Commonwealth Scholarships and Fellowships
This is an annual scheme made available to all Commonwealth countries by the Commonwealth Scholarships Commission.
Eligibility: You must be an Indian citizen residing in India and should have completed tertiary education in English medium. You must hold a doctorate (or other postgraduate qualifications accepted as sufficient for the career you are in). You must not be more than 40 years of age at the time of making the application. 8) Skoll Scholarships at Said Business School, Oxford
The Scholarship is given in recognition that the MBA may represent a significant financial burden, particularly for those who have chosen to work in social ventures rather than commercial or public sectors.
Eligibility: Candidates must have started or worked in a social venture for 12 months or longer. They must demonstrate personal qualities strongly resonating with social entrepreneurship and leadership and must establish the need of a management degree to further contribute to the social task they have taken at hand. 9) Charles Wallace Scholarships
There are a host of scholarships under the aegis of Charles Wallace scholarships at different institutions – writer fellowship at the University of Kent (three months), writer fellowship at the University of Stirling (three months), translator fellowships at University of East Anglia (for two months) and Iqbal Sarin visiting fellowship in journalism at Cardiff School of Journalism, Media and Cultural Studies (three months).
Eligibility: Candidates should be Indian citizens, domiciled and resident, aged between 25 and 45 years (except for translator fellowships wherein there is no upper age limit), have completed their postgraduate studies in the area of their specialisation and/or have between five to seven years professional experience. 10) Vanier Canada Scholarships
The Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships (CGS) programme is designed to attract and retain doctoral students who demonstrate leadership skills. It offers a significant financial award (Canadian $50,000 every year for three years) to assist successful candidates during their studies.
Eligibility: Candidates must have brilliant past academic record (demonstrated by transcripts, awards and distinctions) as well as demonstrated potential of leadership skills and relevant professional and academic experience, including research training and potential leadership ability. 11) Chevening Gurukul Scholarship
Gurukul is a unique 12-week, advanced leadership programme, created by the renowned London School of Economics and Political Science, specifically for India's future leaders.
Eligibility: Applicants should be outstanding professionals from any field e.g. media, public/private sector, NGOs, politics and be able to demonstrate leadership in their chosen field or profession (to be assessed from the personal statement provided with the application form and the references). 12) Charles Wallace Scholarship (Short Research or Professional Visits)
Every year the Trust makes between 10 and 15 grants towards the cost of short visits to the UK by academic research scholars and professionals.
Eligibility: Candidates should be Indian citizens and aged between 25 and 45 years, have good knowledge of English, should have completed their studies and have had four or more years of research or professional experience. Preference is given to post-doctoral applicants. More details

13) Chevening Rolls Royce Science and Innovation Leadership Programme
This programme presents a remarkable 15-week opportunity at the Said Business School, University of Oxford. It will enable 12 scholars to explore innovation and science policy, from an academic, practical and personal perspective.
Eligibility: They are meant for mid-career Indian professionals working in the fields of science, innovation, and related public administration. More details

14) The Gates Cambridge Scholarships
To pursue postgraduate or research studies in Cambridge University, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation offers scholarships every year. All applicants are first evaluated by the academic department in Cambridge to which they are applying. Of these, the department then recommends the very best applicants to the trust. So, you must apply to both – for admission to the course and also for your consideration for the scholarship at the same time.
Eligibility: Candidates must have a first class or high second class honours degree, or its equivalent, from a recognised university and must secure admission in the Cambridge University on their own. More details

15) Dr Manmohan Singh Scholarships
These are fully funded scholarships offered to study for a doctoral degree at St John's college, University of Cambridge. The programme covers academic fees, international air fare, monthly stipend to cover living expenses and UK visa.
Eligibility: Indian national with a masters (postgraduate) degree from a reputed/recognised Indian university/institution with a first class award (UG and PG) in the relevant subject/field and should have identified a full time Doctoral Research degree from the University of Cambridge. More details

  1. MBA is a professional degree that is one of the most aspired for in India. A lot of B-Schools make overstated claims just to be significant. While there are more than three thousand Business schools existing in India, only few among these are top part time MBA Colleges in India.
