The Joint Entrance Examination is one of
the most popular entrance exams in India – no Indian would be unaware.
Engineering aspirants take this exam every in the hopes of reaching the most
prestigious colleges of India such as IIT. JEE, being conducted in two steps,
MAINS and Advanced, has finally declared results for the first level for
September 2020.
JEE mains, conducted by the National Testing
Agency (NTA), provides a direct link on its website jeemain.nta.nic.in along
with the list of JEE main toppers – As per live updates, up to 24 candidates
secured a 100 percentile, ensuring their desired colleges. Of these only one
student is a female - Chukka Tanuja from Telangana while rest 23 are male
students. A total of five transgender students also appeared for the exam but
none got 100 percentiles.
NTA has also released the scores and ranks
of each student along with category-wise cut-off, which can be checked by
logging in with their respective application number and password/date of birth.
The Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal
'Nishank' had congratulated the toppers as per the JEE Main result 2020 as
well, where now the top 2,50,000 candidates from JEE Main rank list 2020 will
be eligible for appearing in JEE Advanced 2020. Registrations for JEE
Advanced have already begun on 12th September,2020.
The examination was conducted amid
coronavirus entrapping the nation after having been postponed twice, from
September 1 to 6, for which around
8.58 lakh candidates had registered. 6.3 lakh of these appeared in the
examination irrespective of the circumstances. NTA, however, did ensure all
precautionary measures of social distancing and sanitization practices for 74%
of the applicants that did take the exam.
What’s this scoring system?
To future aspirants seeking to take the
exam in the coming years or parents are often confused about the scoring system
and what it implies, having been recently implemented. The JEE mains scores are
essentially normalised scores across multi-session papers and are based on the
relative performance of all those who appeared for the examination in one
session. The marks obtained are converted into a scale ranging from 100 to 0
for each session of examinees.

maximum, 100 percentile scorers, at 8

Five students from the national
capital has scored 100 percentiles

L Gokulnath from Noida has
become the topper of JEE Main September session 2020 exam in Uttar
Pradesh, scoring 99.9 percentile
·
Maharashtrian girl from
Nagpur, Indrayani Tayde scored 99.97 percentile and made it to the toppers
list in the state, also making her the female topper of the state.
What Next?
JEE Advanced having already started
registrations will be conducted on 27th September
The 2.5 lakhs candidates taking this exam
are the ones, having at least 90.3765335.
