Singapore is a multi-religious nation with the inhabitants consisting of Buddhist, Taoist, Christian, Muslim, Hindu and other faiths. The education in Singapore is managed by the Ministry of Education. The ministry directs the education policy, controls the administration and development of state schools and maintains a supervisory and advisory role in private schools. Singapore has 4 main Universities, 2 of which are public universities and the other 2 private universities. The ministry of education controls and takes care of the development and administration of the public schools in Singapore.

Universities and other higher learning institutions in Singapore receive students from almost all the countries, globally.

Bachelor's Programs: After completion of the bridge program, students from most of the overseas countries are mandatory to pass an assessment test in order to get permission into a Singapore institution for the equivalent of the Bachelors degree.

Master's Degree Programs: A postgraduate course in Singapore lasts for two years generally and is sometimes completed in one year, depending upon the nature of the course. A postgraduate program or a second-degree program completed from the Singapore universities can be exceptionally helpful in the international job market, especially in the technical, scientific and arts subject areas.

PhD Programs: Doctorate or PhD degree programs are the third-level degree programs in Singapore education system. PhD students who carry out their research work in 'graduate colleges' at universities under a rigid time schedule.

Bachelor's Programs:

The enclosed documents must normally be true copies of certificates. Students, who are willing to study in Singapore, will also have to include authenticated copies of certificates.

Master's Degree Programs:

For master’s degree programme a 4 years bachelors’ degree is the eligibility must for international students. The postgraduate programs, which are offered as an additional course of study in Singapore, require that the students should hold an academic degree

PhD Programs:

The least educational eligibility conditions for doing a PhD program in Singapore is a Master's degree in the subject area.

Application Procedure

Bachelor's Programs:

Students have to apply to the Singapore Universities directly for looking for admission. The International offices of the respective universities can invite for application forms. The filled applications have to be sent back to the university along with the required documents.

Master's Degree Programs:

Students can avail admission forms for postgraduate programs in Singapore at the international offices of the particular universities. The filled applications have to be submitted with valid copies of certificates and other important documents attached to them.

Cost of Living & Studying in Singapore

The cost of livelihood in Singapore is amongst the highest in Asia but this should come as no surprise as Singapore offers state-of-the art amenities for education, shopping, sports and amusement just like western countries. Prices of food and clothing are rational and the living conditions are the best in Asia as the inflation rate is moderately lower than most other countries.

Studying Cost:

Yearly tuition fees range from S$ 5,500 to S$ 39,000. Under The Tuition Grant Bond fees may be subsidized with the requirement for the international student to work for three years (Medical and Dental courses 5 years) in Singapore.
