Stay orders on counselling become cause of worry for medical aspirants

You people are aware of situation going on for MBBS admissions. The process has already started few got their seats but the second round is still taking a hit due to numerous issues which display the unorganised decision making and confusion in the seat placement committee itself. As the last date for completion of admission of MBBS and BDS to medical colleges soon approaches, the rally of stay orders on the counselling process has become a great cause of worry to the aspirants. It is obvious that August 31 is the last date for completion of admissions, the university administration is still struggling to move ahead with the second and final counselling as petitions have been filed against implementation of GO 550 while allocating seats to reserved candidate. It’s just chaos all over and many have even got loans at hand but don’t have a guaranty of fix admission even after such a long wait and struggle.

SFI state secretary Ramesh called it a shoddy problem interpretation of reservation system by the university and said, “This is the first time when 15% of the seats in government colleges are allocated to national pool, where BC and OC women were not given representation as per the standard roster system. When it came to allotment of reservations in the 85% state quota, the university should have considered this discrepancy and compensated the seats lost, for BC category.”

The actual fact is university’s responsibility is to see that the reservations are allocated in such a way that 50% of the seats are filled under open category, and reservations are applied as per GO 550, in the other 50%, while on the other hand, the state government is heading to file a petition against high court order given on August 5, to proceed with second counselling without considering para 5(2) of GO 550.

It’s very painful to watch student suffer only to get average medical education paying lakhs of rupees, when they can in fact get world class education abroad with less expenses than in India, for more details visit http://gkworks.in/mbbs-admissions/
