Introduction

Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai, one of the six IITs set up by an act of parliament, was established in 1958, at Powai, a northern suburb of Mumbai. Today the institute is recognized as one of the centres of academic excellence in the country.

Over the years, there has been dynamic progress at IIT–Mumbai in all academic and research activities, and a parallel improvement in facilities and infrastructure, to keep it on par with the best institutions in the world.

Institutes in positions of excellence grow with time. The ideas and ideals on which such institutes are built evolve and change with national aspirations, national perspectives, and trends worldwide. IIT–Mumbai, too, is one such institution.

Admission

Appearing for Joint Management Entrance Test (JMET) is the first step in the process of seeking admission to the 2-YEAR FULL TIME Post-Graduate Degree Programmes in Management offered by IITs and IISc. Currently IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras and IIT Roorkee are offering such Programmes in Management. JMET is being conducted for admission to these Programmes.

B.E./B.Tech. Or equivalent in any branch of engineering with at least Second Class.

IIT Bombay
Master of Management (M.Mgt)
First class degree (min.60% aggregate/min. CPI of 6.5/10) in either Engineering (Bachelor's degree or equivalent) or Postgraduate degree in Science.

Master of Business Administration (MBA) with focus on Management Systems.
60% marks in aggregate or 6.75/10 CGPA in Bachelor's degree in any branch of Engineering / Technology / Architecture / Pharmacy / Agriculture Engg. Or Master's degree in any branch of Physical / Chemical / Mathematical Sciences like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Applications, Electronic Science, Environmental Science, Operations Research, Computational / Information Science, Agriculture, or Master's degree in Commerce / Economics.

IIT Delhi
Master of Business Administration (MBA) with focus on Tele-communication Systems Management.

Management. 60% marks in aggregate or 6.75/10 CGPA in Bachelor's degree in any branch of Engineering / Technology / Architecture / Pharmacy / Agriculture Engg. Or Master's degree in any branch of Physical / Chemical / Mathematical Sciences like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Applications, Electronic Science, Environmental Science, Operations Research, Computational / Information Science, Agriculture, or Master's degree in Commerce / Economics.

IIT Kanpur
Master of Business Administration (MBA)
Bachelor's degree in any branch of Engineering or Technology with 60% marks or GPA of 6.0/10 in aggregate. Candidates with Architecture degree can apply provided they have taken Mathematics at 10+2 Level.

IIT Kharagpur
Master of Business Administration (MBA)

First Class Bachelor's degree in any branch of Engineering/Technology (OR) Master's degree in Science with Mathematics or Statistics at Bachelor's level (OR) First Class Master's Degree in Economics/Commerce with Mathematics or Statistics at Bachelor's level.

IIT Madras
Master of Business Administration (MBA)

B.E./B.Tech. or equivalent with First Class or equivalent or a Master's degree in any discipline with First Class or equivalent from a recognized Institution/University.

IIT Roorkee
Master of Business Administration (MBA)

Bachelor's degree in any discipline of Engineering/Technology or its equivalent or a Master's degree in any discipline, from a recognized Institute/University with atleast 60% marks (55% marks for SC/ST) in aggregate or CGPA of 6.75/10 (6.25/10 for SC/ST).
