ISB to extend placement

ISB to extend placement

The Indian School of Business had a better placement season this season compared with last year. The number of companies coming to the campus increased by about 30 per cent.
The number of offers too increased 30 per cent, according to ISB dean Ajit Rangnekar.
Addressing the students at the ninth graduation day on Saturday, he said the school would extend the placement season for some more time.
“ISB follows rolling placement. It is not possible to accommodate all students and companies by March 31,” he said.
The rolling placements would give students and the companies more time for decision making, he said.
ISB would offer PhD course shortly. The research would focus on Indian case studies.
The school would also absorb more faculty and promote entrepreneurship. It would also evolve a mechanism to promote continuous learning to the alumni.
The Class 2004 contributed for Alumni Endowment Fund to set it rolling. The ISB board agreed to match the contribution.
The school, which turns 10 this December, has already started attracting faculty from foreign university for research.
Union minister of Human Resources Development Kapil Sibal urged students to re-examine the concept of wealth and reflect on how capital was to be used not for just building the balancesheet but also for building social capital.
In all, 568 students graduated. The Scholar of Excellence was jointly shared by Gaurav Punia and Rahul Garg for their consistent academic achievement.
