This year, there has been a dip of 3.1% in the CA final exams which is the lowest in the past five years. If statistics are to be believed, out of the 937 students who appeared for the CA final exam only 50 managed to pass it. Similar was the case for the Common Proficiency Test (CPT) wherein only 647 qualified out of 1,794 students who sat for the exam.
When students who appeared for the CA final exam was contacted, they claimed that the pass percentage was low because the exam was extremely difficult. However, President of ICAI, Subodh Kumar Agrawal, was quoted to say that this is not the first time that the exam is witnessing results below 10%. Even in the 1980s and 1990s the success rate for the CA exams was on the lower side.
