Maharashtra Engineering College offers JEE Main 2014 mock test

The Maharashtra Engineering College Teachers’ Association (MECTA) is expected to conduct three online mock tests to help candidates from the state who are aspiring to write the Joint Entrance Examination Main 2014 (JEE Main 2014) through the online mode. MECTA will conduct the mock tests on Sunday, March 16, Sunday, March 23 and Sunday, March 30, 2014.
The online mock tests will be held according to the JEE guidelines. The students who appear for the mock test will benefit from the exposure and practice, which will help them achieve high scores in JEE Main 2014.
As per MECTA officials, engineering colleges in Maharashtra will use the scores of JEE Main for the first time in 2014 to grant admissions. Hence, the state level mock examinations will be conducted by MECTA to help candidates judge their levels of preparation. A state level merit list will be announced. The mock tests will particularly benefit candidates from rural regions as they are not used to being evaluated among a high number of candidates, as students from bigger cities are used to, the officials added.
The online mock tests will be common to 12th standard students from science streams. The syllabus and test pattern will be same as that of JEE Main 2014. It will be a three-hour test. Each correct answer will fetch four marks, while each incorrect answer will result in one mark being deducted. Students will not be allowed to use calculators or mobile phones.
Students can visit www.mecta.in for online registration. Registration will continue till Saturday, February 15, 2014 and Results will be announced on the same day that the examinations are held.
The application forms will be accessible from MECTA’s official website. Aspirants need to make a payment of Rs 600 in the form of a Demand Draft (DD) which is drawn in favor of "Maharashtra Engineering College Teacher Association", to be payable at Nashik.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has also offered online mock tests for JEE Main 2014 aspirants. The candidates can avail these tests free of cost at the website of CBSE - www.cbse.gov.in.
