Cabinet approves creating new teaching posts in Jammu

Jammu: The State cabinet has approved the formation of new posts in the Education Department of Jammu due to the immense shortage of teachers in newly upgraded schools.

The decision was taken at a Cabinet meeting recently. Sources claim that some Congress ministers expressed their discontentment against not being taken into confidence for finalizing the decision and hence theCabinet was unable to reach a conclusion.

The creation of new posts in schools that were upgraded in 2008 was taken by the Cabinet after detailed discussions. Most schools in the region have been facing a shortage of teaching staff for quite some time.

The Cabinet has already created the posts of two Deputy Inspector Generals (DIGs) for Indian Reserve Police in Jammu and Srinagar. The Cabinet has also decided to establish a National Institute of Fashion Designing and Technology at Budgam in Kashmir.
