Indian Institute of Managment, Tiruchirappali, has ended its first summer placement session for the batch of 2011-13. In this placement session the average stipend offered for the internship was Rs. 53,000, excluding travel, accommodation and other benefits, and the highest domestic offer was Rs. 1.20 lakh for eight weeks placement.
In this placement season 40 companies participated and selected 83 students for internships in various sectors such as marketing, finance, operations, HR, consulting and strategy. Godwin Tennyson, chairperson, placement and external relations, IIM-Tiruchirappali, said, the placement followed a rolling process and was held in two stage separated by term break.
In this placement session the biggest contributor was human resource, which took 36 per cent students, marketing was another big recruiter which also selected 36 per cent students and operations was another major sector with 12 per cent share. Some big name of the market which participated in the placement session was HUL, P&G International, Pfizer, Rediff.com, Amul and Berger Paints.
