Xavier Labour Relation Institute (XLRI), Jamshedpur, has just completed its final placement process for its present batch. The students received numbers of offers from various leading companies, which indicates that XLRI 2012 placement went well. As per Final Placement Report, which has been recently released by the XLRI revealed that 98% students got placed in the first three days of placement process.
This year 235 students appeared in the placement process and received total 284 offers. This placement season witnessed participation of various leading companies from different fields. In finance sector Goldman Sachs turned up as biggest recruiter with 12 offers for its asset management and investment roles. This report also revealed that a leading venture capital company also visited campus to recruit XLRI students. This company selected XLRI exclusively to recruit students.
This year the average domestic salary was Rs. 16.48 lakh, and median domestic salary was Rs. 15.5 lakh per annum. Whereas, the highest domestic salary was Rs.40 lakh per annum and highest international salary was offered $ 1,25,000 to students.
From banking and finance sector some biggies like Citibank, Edelweiss, ICICI Bank and SBI Capital Markets participated in the placement process. This year Standard Chartered and N M Rothschild's investment banking also visited campus to recruit students.
Consulting sector is another sector from which students receive many offers some big brands like Boston Consulting Group and McKinsey and Co. Deloitte Consulting recruited students for their Indian and US locations. Gallup Consulting is one company which visited campus first time to recruit students. List of other recruiters includes IBM, Hay Group, PwC, KPMG, Ernst and Young, and PeopleStrong.
Airtel is the largest recruiter in the marketing sector with 12 offers. Some well known companies which participated in the placement process were Unilever, P&G, Johnson & Johnson, GlaxoSmithKline, Nestle, PepsiCo, Hindustan Coca Cola Beverages, Marico, Britannia, ITC, Kraft Cadbury and Lenovo.
Facebook, Amazon, Flipkart and Redbus were also visited campus to participate in the placement process.
