FMS Placement 2012: 41% students opted for Marketing field

Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) of Delhi University has completed its placement for the present batch. This year students bagged higher pay packages at all levels, which includes highest international package, highest domestic package and average package.

According to the official source of FMS, this year student received good offers as compared to last year. One of the students received the highest international offer of Rs. 72 lakh per annum, where as the last year highest international offer was Rs. 70 lakh. The domestic salary too noticed good jump of Rs. 5 lakh with the highest offer of Rs. 32 lakh per annum. Last year the average salary offered was Rs. 15.7 lakh per annum, however this year it recorded a hike of 6.1% and went up to 16.34 lakh per year.

This is the largest batch till date and the institute managed to place all students. In this season many big and small firms participated. The batch strength was 227 with the increase of 12% as compared to last year batch size. Total 127 companies confirmed their participation in the placement and out of them 96 companies visited the campus for recruitments.

Marketing field was hit among students as almost 41% students choose offers in this field, followed by finance with 26% and 21% students opted for consulting, strategy and general management. As FMS is fist choice for those who want to make career in finance field and this year too FMS live up to its reputation with placing 26% students in banking, financial services and insurance.
