Get set for an exciting career in E-commerce

Few years back when you would think of fashion or design the only thing that came to the mind was clothes, accessories or at best shoes.

With the demands of industry changing, career definitions in many areas are changing. The focus now is more on developing specific skill sets for the niche needs of every industry.

Pearl Academy of Fashion has launched new courses to train students for the new opportunities. Known more for its courses in fashion, the academy is trying to look at design as a whole.

"We spoke to many companies in the E-commerce domain and found out a definite need for developing ecommerce expertise apart from design and fashion skills among students", said Mr Sharad Mehra, COO, Pearl Academy of Fashion.

"The course will also encourage students to create look an entrepreneurship and not just jobs in other companies", he added.

"There could be a range of job opportunities from startups to established brands. Many big brands are looking to increase online presence, not as a marketing move, but to actually sell products," said Mr AKG Nair, group Director, Pearl Academy of Fashion.

Fashion and Lifestyle Ecommerce

This course will train students to become professionals who understand the business of e-commerce and can create and manage online stores. For this, just the knowledge of fashion or just marketing is not enough.

The course will cover subjects like, Web store design, marketing and fashion and lifestyle industry, Digital marketing etc.

The course duration is one year and students can choose from:

To get further exposure on E-marketing from an international partner
Be attached to an E-commerce company
Be mentored while setting up an E-venture of their own

The course fee is about Rs 3.52 lakh for one year.

The institute announced the launch of its fourth campus in Noida, which will be operational from June 2012. In addition to the ecommerce course, the institute launched another two courses - Interior Product Design and Luxury Brands.
