UK may consider cancellation of post-study visa withdrawal

Further to the talks and subsequent implementation of UK’s post study work visa policy withdrawal, many students were in a state of dilemma. But, the current talks have it that UK might consider cancelling the post study work visa regulation now.

The students can expect it to get a little flexible post an assurance sent out by senior British ministers. Indian Commerce Minister Anand Sharma raised a sharp criticism to UK’s tougher visa rules. He in fact warned UK that Indian IT majors might consider relocating their business operations to other European countries, in case British stay stringent on their visa laws.

He said, “I have raised this, we have our concerns. They should have some practical exposure. The issue is how to look at it. What they have shared with me is that they should get appropriate jobs that are commensurate with their qualifications or degrees. The very fact is that there is this reassurance at the highest level of the British government. I shall follow up my talks with a communication.”

He also said, “They say they have no intention to deny, they are only looking at certain specifics so that domain knowledge is utilized. If you are trained as a biotechnologist, then you don't go to sectors. But we have yet to see the final picture.”
