TAPMI–MANIPAL

TAPMI–MANIPAL

Introduction

Since its inception in 1983, TAPMI and its two-year postgraduate programme in management (PGP), has come to be recognized both for the quality of education imparted and the calibre of the students. It was among the first management institutes to be recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) in 1986. Subsequently, the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) also recognized the programme.

Late Shri T A Pai founded Manipal Institute of Management to set a new standard in management education, research and consultancy relevant to Indian conditions. He was an eminent banker, a distinguished administrator and a visionary leader. He became the Union minister of railways and Union minister of industry and civil supplies. To perpetuate his memory, the institute was renamed as T A Pai Management Institute. The recognition enables graduates of TAPMI to seek admission directly to doctoral programmes (PhD or equivalent) either in India or abroad.
