Stanford looks for tie-up with Ahmedabad varsity

Ahmedabad: Ahmedabad University is in discussions to have an agreement with Stanford University. A delegation of the latter is in the city to explore the possibilities of a tie-up with city based premium institutes. While the Ahmedabad University authorities have confirmed that they are in talks with the Stanford University, they did not reveal further information.
Praful Anubhai, chairman of the Ahmedabad University board said, "It will be premature to say anything on the subject at present. But we are in discussion with the Stanford University."
Prof. AH Kalro, Provost of Ahmedabad University also confirmed the dialogue with Stanford University and said, "It is too early to say anything about the discussion or any kind of tie-up with the university but we are exploring the possibilities of setting up an innovation centre in the Ahmedabad University with the Stanford University. We are planning to develop and launch some courses in the field of innovation that will help ideas to transform into products for the market."
Stanford University officials visited National Institute of Design. There are chances that the delegation will look for the possibilities of inking agreements with some of the city's institutes.
It is to be noted that the Ahmedabad University had recently signed an agreement with the Judge Business School of University of Cambridge, UK for designing the curriculum of executive MBA programme.
